Yeeehaaaaw! Here come the playoffs! or the "WHO THE HELL IS PLAYING TONIGHT ANYWAY?" blog.

Ok Team this is the deal. Despite yesterday's emailpalooza I think we've actually worked this thing out. A few things of note before we get started.
Larry might have been right about the squad split up...but did management have to come out and say it? Sheesh. Like that guy's ego needs anymore inflation.
Secondly thanks to everyone getting back to managment about availability on short notice. Nice to see everyone is already on "Hightened Alert Status" for the playoffs... that's what we need.
So without further ado...

The Scapegoats have stuck it to us a few times this year and now we get the chance to put the hurt back on them. This was the last time we faced them, a 4-2 loss. This was the time before that... a 10-2 loss.
These guys have some talent and we should expect they will have all of it on the ice tonight. Everyone on the roster tonight needs to have a solid night for us to be successful. Giving these guys a loss in the playoffs would more than erase the bad taste from those two games, so let's get after it. See you tonight.
Sounds like iJosh has leftover beer. Anyone else that wants to bring... should.

Number 19 (or 17) big guy - played very well the first game, not so much in the second - but he has a very good shot from the point, makes cross-ice outlet passes.

Also - the girl...she stick-handles very well - she didn't say in the second game - put a body on her and she will get distracted, don't give her space to walk around you...talked trash, but got pissed/distracted after physical play.; August 23, 2007 at 10:26 AM

Welcome to the Hockey Blog!

Team, friends, opponents, and random wanderers of the digital landscape... Welcome.

In these humble pages do I offer the game stories, mundane facts, stats, and proud tales of our Beer League Hockey teams the Cadavers and the Schlitz.

Can you say something is just a hobby if you do it once (or twice) a week for as long as you can remember? I don't know, but I love to play hockey. We've been playing with one incarnation of this team or another for ten years plus now. We play even if the games are late at night, or on a weeknight (they are usually both), and the kids haven't been sleeping great, and you have to be to work early tomorrow morning. We still go play. Its just what we do to play our game.

Our hobby... or what we do every week, sometimes(mostly) late at night in far away places. Then we like to have a cold beverage and talk about it in the parking lot afterward. Because that's a big part of it to... as you will see.

I got to thinking a while back that we should keep stats. You know, some way to give a story line to the season. So many of them had flown by, it was hard to remember all the things that had happened to the team or teams over the years.

Keeping track of the stats and email conversation threads that went on and on told our story in a new way. Which was cool.
Then I discovered blogger.

The Blog is a perfect forum, in my opinion, to tell our story, and the perfect companion "hobby" to my weekly sport hobby. Each week we get a game story and maybe some fun stories about the game. It works great now with the two teams because everyone wants to know how the other squad did.

So this is the story of our teams and our friends. I hope you find pleasure in the telling of our tales. A good game, a hard skate and usually a cold beer afterward. There are few greater things one can do with their time. At least that's what we think.

Please feel free to comment, whomever you are. The more the merrier I say as long as you are polite... or very funny. Visitors, friends, and opponents thoughts are always welcome. I invite you to share what you have to say. Everyone.
