Suds win a Playoff Squeeekah!

Suds win 1-0 !!!

Well, well, well. Another excellent playoff game, and this time, the desired result. The Suds did the Yellow...err Gold proud and pulled out a very close game in the closing minutes. A zero-zero duel of the goalies right up to the closing minutes. From the descriptions of those Suds players reached by cellphone during the 4th period this game was very close.
The Gold was well stocked with 3 full lines of forwards, and 2 sets of D. Forward lines broke down like this. Chris Fosdick, Larry Bell, and Scott Pounds 1st, Nelson Sharfman, Dangerous Dave, and Pete Capraro 2nd, and Jim Sullivan, Matvey Nihkamik, and Ken Goldenberg as the 3rd set. D pairings were Stephan and Bearded Dan, and then Greg James and Billy Pearlman.

"Jack made a bunch of just ridiculous saves to keep us in it all night long. He was great."
Overheard between Larry and Sully during warmups: "Wait til you see their goalie, you are going to salivate" Apparently while just a "wee-lad" he apparently had no problem overcoming his "height challenged" status and proceeded to shut the Gold out for nearly the whole game. After that pregame conversation the "wee" goalie stuffed Larry on TWO breakaway chances, and STONED Sully on a third which apparently was a "reach back" or "pull it out of your ass" type save. Thankfully the Schlitz were able to break through.
The only goal came with 1:05 remaining in the third period. Chris Fosdick tipped home a blasting shot from Stephan at the point. Larry figured in the scoring as he got it out to Stephan to start the play. Great job by everyone.
Now thanks to the "bye" that the Schlitz recieved for finishing first they are technically 2-0 in the playoffs and need to beat the Cadavers for a spot in the championship game. Isn't this how it's supposed to be? A Schlidaveur game with HUGE playoff implications.
