Another in the long early season string of double header games this one stands apart for two reasons. First we are thankfully back at our usual winter "home" rink in Canton, and secondly we had enough players to (mostly) fill out two rosters without having the majority of the team skate two games. This was a big help.

The blogger freely admits he did NOT play in this game and really didn't get too much of a chance to watch it. Any of you guys that played in it, please comment and give us a few words to let us know how this one went down.

It looked like a close game for a while, then the Zombies pulled way ahead, then the Preds came back in the third to make it close. Thankfully, given that the game was in Canton I have a beautifully filled out scoresheet that tells the story.

Mike Daley would lead off scoring just over 3 minutes into the game unassisted. If it was half as nice as his second goal, which I did see, then it was a beauty. Larry would land one from Gregson and Daley with 11 and a half to go in the first.

The Predators would answer a minute later to make it 2-1 Zombies. Kenny AK Douville would score from Roman and Goody at the 8 minute mark only to be answered by the Green with 2 minutes left in the first. The first period would end 3-2 Zombies.

The Second period was all... and I mean all Team Zombie. KenMitch Goldenberg would lead it off with a beauty of a shot from the slot, credit the assist to linemate Matt Elliot. Thats 2 goals in 2 weeks for Ken. Mike Daly would rip off a phenominal solo rush from the red line that would weave through half the team and end in a great goal, unassisted. AK would strike again from Larry and Goody, this one a nice low shot glove side. And not to be boxed out of the big period Roman Kurin would score with help from DWH at the point. All of these goals came before the 8 minute mark of the second. The Zombies would take a 7-2 lead to the third.

The game was pretty quiet the rest of the way. The Predators would take two penalties then all hell would break loose in the last five minutes. Must have been somekind of letdown but the Predators finished very strong, even in defeat as they score 3 goals over the last five minutes to turn a blowout into a pretty close game. This one would end 7-5.
