Zombies toast Tigers!

Cadavers (2) vs Tigers
Monday October 12th
Dedham 10:10pm

The season having opened with a Schlidaveur the week before this was the first game of the season against regular opponents for Team Zombie and the first of a long string of games at the House of Horrors... Prison by the Bay... The Crumbling Relic... The... well you get the idea... U Ass.

This dump is never a favorite hockey or vacation destination by skaters in the league, this gem seems to keep popping up again from time to time on the schedule. Several playoff games were scheduled there and the early season would see its fair share of dates at the Ass.
Fear not fellow 'daveurs, Management is on the case and all emails have been duly considered by the League office and we can only hope for a few less dates down the road. Until then, get your six bucks and your long underwear and enjoy the magic of the UMass
rink.
Tigers wore red so Dead skated as Yellow.

The blogger didn't attend but there are some great guest blog accounts of the game so we will hand it right over to them.
Here is Matvey with a nice recap:
Good game, I think Tigers did not have their regular goalie, but nevertheless we provided plenty of chances so even with a better goalie we'd probably scored 6 goals.

Nice couple of shots from Valenti, not the hardest, but right on goal and low, they were deflected for 2 goals.
We scored 5 on 3- Steve from me (don't remember if we had another assist).
Great prolonged abscence of Campbell, 3 penalties in a row with a small break between 1st and others.
I also had another assist on Daley's goal- got the puck to the point, Mike took a shot and scored.
Good hustle from everyone, putting a lot more presure than usual on defensively minded Tigers. - Matvey
Thanks Matvey. Now here is Mike Campbell with a short recap of his own:
Me, George, Reynolds and Valenti on D. Lizzy in Net.

GREAT game. Back and forth, no one ever had more than a two goal lead. Very nice to have Goody, Daley and baker all out there. Capraro was tenacious as always. Big Dan worked his ass off. Had a pretty good game.

Here is Marc Valenti with the score-sheet and some highlights in a very nice summary... including the roster.

Highlights:
Team played well, we had some issues in the backchecking dept., but we made up for it in the offense.
Daley had a great breakaway
Campbell began the foundation for “The Campbell Award”
It helped that we had a full bench against these guys, 3 lines and 2 sets of D
Chris played very well on his injury rebound

Thanks Marc. Great job with the stats.
This game did indeed mark the return of an injured 'daveur as Chris Fosdick would play his first game since breaking his arm a way back in the spring. Nice to hear that the old dog hasnt forgotten how to play, and it will be nice to have him back in the lineup on a regular basis.

Sounds like Campbell had some of his usual run ins with the Zeebras...

DiLoreto, David wrote: Campbell was just regaling me with stories of how he has picked up this season right where he left off… classic.

Greg: You forgot to mention that these penalties were called right after he came out of the box. A Boch Ice center classic

DiLo: Cross check AND a trip at the same time? That easily trumps this wimpy goal as far as talent and drive goes…

Mike: Yeah, good point... Zero to three in no time at all... Never got back to the bench after my first call...
