Dedham 8:10pm
6-2 Loss
Well... its taken a week but the Blogger can't put it off any longer. The playoffs go on as of Monday and the "week off" is almost over.
This game wasn't a whole lot of fun, despite the fact that the Golden Beercans played hard, even fairly well at times but just didn't have enough to get it done against the 'goats.
The roster was full, with a complete 13 showing for the Schlitz.
Defense were Campbell and James, George and DWH
Offense 1: Larry, Jasse and Chuck
Offense 2: Nelson, Hammitt and Matvey
Offense 3: Jeff, Blake and Gregson
Net: Brian Carey.
The game started fine and there was some good action early.
Unfortunatley at the three minute mark #18 came rushing up the ice. He was the only one NOT dressed in the 'goats sharp unis... he then made a nice slide move and lasered a shot past Brian. Just to makes sure we all saw what he could do, he did it again a minute later.
Jeff asked him if he played D league often... "I've been with these guys 3 years" was his response.
No problem. Actually, as the game went on this guy slowed down remarkably, so there is no way that the blogger is going to be calling "ringer" on this game.
The Goats landed another before the end of the first and it was 3-0 badguys after one. They would score again in the second period for the only scoring and lead 4-0 after two periods.
The Suds would take a pair of penalties in the third (Campbell/Bell) as frustration mounted but in general the Zebras let everything go and while things were a little chippy at times, it was good playoff hockey.

The 'cans would break through, courtesy of Mike Jasse, who took a sweet feed from DWH and got the Gold of the "shnide". Larry would score (of course) inside the final 2 minutes (assist by Jasse) but the game was well decided at that point.
The Goats had scored twice more just before Larry's goal (18 again...) and the game would end like that 6-2.
There really isn't much to say about all that other than the PUNK ASS KID who was supposed to be the scorekeeper couldn't be bothered to write anything other than the goals down on the sheet. Glad we are paying him.
The Goats 18 had a chance to repeat his "been with them 3 years" a couple more times. Once while Hammitt was trying to talk the Zebras into something after the game (...don't ask... I don't have a clue either...) and once more in the parking lot when our stragglers and their stragglers shared a beer well after the game.
Well... back to it next week. The 'cans are still technically alive for the Championship game but will need to win big against the Blues this coming week.
Stay tuned...

Jasse's goal was a rebound off my shot, after I collected the sweet feed from DWH.
