Suds Sing the Blues at BU.

Schlitz (5) vs Blues
Thursday June 19th
BU 10:10pm

7-1 loss.

Another night at BU, another hot (temperature) game and yes another case of zebra pre-e-clock-u-lation as the clock was started AGAIN before all of our players were on the ice. Something to keep track of for future late games at BU... they ain't waitin' around.

This one sounded like a tough one. I'm going to turn it over to a great group of (reluctant) guest bloggers who clearly would rather forget the night happend... but here they are anyway. Lets lead of with the first responder... Dan Gregson...
"Roman got the only goal. It was a nice rainbow shot. We kept it close until about halfway through the second when we just lost our skates and and about 6 goals went in.
Mark that in the Oooops column."
When later pressed about the final score his response was...
"i think it was 8-1 You mark that frame an 8, and you're entering a world of pain."
Game Star to Gregson for making a Big Lebowski reference...

Next up was Dr. Pounds but he just kept sending FAIL photos... I've added them to the post.
We'll now hear from regular contributor iJosh on the game...

"We played like we were in Game 6 of the NBA finals...... Except we were the Lakers
Once again the game at BU started ahead of schedule. So by the time everyone got to the ice 2 minutes had ticked away from the clock. I think it is time to teach the refs come time management skills.

Anyway we started quick on the first shift as Roman tapped one over the goalie and in from Parker. 1-0 Suds. Later in the first the Blues would get the equalizer as a scrum would slip one past Lizzie. That is how the second period would end.
The second would see the Blues pull away a little with more grit and determination than the Old Beer Cans. They would put a few past Lizzie to make it 4-1 after the second period.

The third would see the valiant opponent pack it in and accept its fate. As the time started to tick away, there was much grumbling on the bench regarding smart play, tough play and hard work. All was true, but that did nothing to stop the slide. After 2 more Blues goals, the Schiltz would send two the box one after another for a one minute 5 on 3 PK as Valenti would go first and George second. And that would effectively end the game. A grand total of 7 goals to 1.

A common bright side, we all had a nice leisurely evening in the parking lot beating them by at least an hour. Beverages provided by Dr. Pounds, Valenti and Lizzie and Dad."
Excellent work my good man... too bad the final score wasn't so excellent. Good strong recap though... the blogger appreciates it.

Now we have the goal scorer of the night... our favorite Russian named Roman...
"I think the final score was 7-1, Game started very well for us, we scored the first goal, Parker left a puck for me and I took a shot towards the net, It got deflected and went over the blues goalie. Really the first period was close, we had several chances just could not capitalize, their goalie played very well. I think it was 2-1 after the first period. In the second their goalie made a diving save on Gregson, that was a sure goal, what a robbery that was.
At some point in the game they started pouring it on or we just lost our legs. At the end of the game ref decided to call penalties on us leaving us with 5 on 3 situation on which they subsequently scored. George and Parker to the penalty box. So yeah, this game doesnt inspire a lot of writing.
Forward lines were Parker-Roman-Gregson, Scott-IJosh-Eliott with George, Valenti, DWH and Hammitt on defense."
Another good guest blog. Thanks Roman.
Special thanks also to Kevin Parker, Matt Elliot, and Marc Valenti for sending in reports.
Dont forget about the game on Sunday night. 10:20pm in Canton...

See the roster on the post below this. Please show up on time in case we get the "in a hurry to get home" officials...

Another quick note here on how the season is going. We've played 5 games per team and 2 against ourselves, one of which was a tie. Taking those two games out we are 2-4 against everyone else, with the two wins coming over Inglewood Jacks (4-1) and Last Call (6-3).
NOW... the four losses have been U.G.L.Y...we aint got no aliby... ugly.
Rt.138autobody 11-2, DeepFreeze 10-1, Double Runners 7-3, and the Blues 7-1.
Uh... not so good.
