Playoffs Game 1. Schlidaveurtime!

Once again kids... its the moment and time we've all been waiting for... Playoff Schlidaveurs. Firmly ensconced as the 2 and 3 seeds in our division the "Good Lookin'" Suds will be facing the "Butt-Ugly" Zombies in a playoff showdown on Wednesday night.

Here is how the playoff format looks. We're in the Huskies Division. The Tigers and the Deep Freeze are the other 2 teams that we will be playing for the Division Championship.

So there you have it. Let's get a good turnout for Wednesday Night. If you cannot make it, or suspect you might not make it please notify Jeff as soon as possible. Mike Campbell and Greg James (and possibly Matt) are the only ones I have so far who cannot be there.

Just a side note... I'll do end of season stats after the playoffs (unless there is great demand for end of "regular season" numbers) to give you the full picutre. There was no scoring in the final game due to the forfeit... so Larry still leads everyone.

Until then... you Ugly lookin... Zombies better prepare for the everloving asswhoopin' us pretty boys are going to put on your asses.

Welcome to the Hockey Blog!

Team, friends, opponents, and random wanderers of the digital landscape... Welcome.

In these humble pages do I offer the game stories, mundane facts, stats, and proud tales of our Beer League Hockey teams the Cadavers and the Schlitz.

Can you say something is just a hobby if you do it once (or twice) a week for as long as you can remember? I don't know, but I love to play hockey. We've been playing with one incarnation of this team or another for ten years plus now. We play even if the games are late at night, or on a weeknight (they are usually both), and the kids haven't been sleeping great, and you have to be to work early tomorrow morning. We still go play. Its just what we do to play our game.

Our hobby... or what we do every week, sometimes(mostly) late at night in far away places. Then we like to have a cold beverage and talk about it in the parking lot afterward. Because that's a big part of it to... as you will see.

I got to thinking a while back that we should keep stats. You know, some way to give a story line to the season. So many of them had flown by, it was hard to remember all the things that had happened to the team or teams over the years.

Keeping track of the stats and email conversation threads that went on and on told our story in a new way. Which was cool.
Then I discovered blogger.

The Blog is a perfect forum, in my opinion, to tell our story, and the perfect companion "hobby" to my weekly sport hobby. Each week we get a game story and maybe some fun stories about the game. It works great now with the two teams because everyone wants to know how the other squad did.

So this is the story of our teams and our friends. I hope you find pleasure in the telling of our tales. A good game, a hard skate and usually a cold beer afterward. There are few greater things one can do with their time. At least that's what we think.

Please feel free to comment, whomever you are. The more the merrier I say as long as you are polite... or very funny. Visitors, friends, and opponents thoughts are always welcome. I invite you to share what you have to say. Everyone.
