Cadavers go down to SLJ @ BU

Cadavers (11) vs SLJ
Wednesday December 16
BU Walter Brown Arena

5-1 Loss

A cold, dark, and windy night on Babcock street for this meeting between the Zombies and out of division opponent SLJ. We dont see these guys too often but last night they were on the schedule. The Blogger will gladly stand aside as series of Guestbloggers gives you a rundown of the action. First up Dan The Man Gregson with a short and sweet recap.

Gregson: "D pairings wereMatvey and RomanElliott & DaleyWe had 3 sets of wings 2 centre'sKen G. and myself were a set of wings... See MoreThe Centers switched it up with the other lines a bitIjosh, AK, Steve, Nelson, and Neil and Chuck and Lizzie in netI remember falling down 3 times other than that they had some dude that looked like Scott Neidermayer. It might have been him."

Thanks Dan. Now we will hear from Matt Elliot, Mike Daley, and Nelson Sharfman... in that order. The Blogger's cup runneth over on this and he truly appreciates everyone chipping in.

Elliot: The Defensive pairings were set-up as U.S. (Myself and Mike Daley) vs. Russia (Matvey and Roman). The U.S. didn’t allow a goal until the end of their last shift which was a disappointing way to end the game.

Also, Mike D had one of the greatest Penalty Kill shifts ever. It was me, Gregson, and Mitch out there with him. He was everywhere, and essentially killed the penalty singlehandedly. It was really impressive. If you were to award game stars I think he would definitely deserve the first one just for that shift alone.

Daley: I brought an 18 pack and still have 14 left. Bunch of Sally's can't handle the subzero temperatures. I'll bring what survives the weekend on Tuesday. We were not going to win this one but managed to avoid a blowout. The highlight was the defensive pairings. We felt the need to involve nationalism in our line structure. Elliott and Daley represented USA while Roman and Matvey represented Russia. Final score USA -1, Russia -3. USA!

Nelson: Uggly (two "g's" required)
5-1 loss
I guess they were pretty good. I was pretty bad.
AK scored our only goal. (My single contribution for the evening was being an opaque.)
There were some strong individual performances by selected Cadavers throughout the game, but overall they were unable to carry the deadwood (me and whoever else feels like they belong in that shameful category) past a team that by comparison certainly had their act together.

The next game can't come soon enough.

Wow. Thanks guys. Sorry about the outcome. Also sorry to hear that those 4th period beers went un consumed... we'll have to work on that for next time. See you all next week.
