Cads implode against Cones!

Cadavers (12) vs. Streetcones
Sunday 12/9
Milton Academy 7pm

5-1 Loss.

A tough one, on an evening when the Patriots were busy dispatching the pesky Pittsburg Steelers, there was a hearty crew that showed up to Milton Academy and played hard against a not-so formidable Streetcones squad. Unfortunatly the 'Cones got the best of the 'Cads on this night, but it wasn't from a lack of trying... or typical mistakes on our part that we commonly make.
First off we had true team player Mr.Nineandahalfdigits between the pipes. That's right Mad Matt Kilroy took to the ice with fire and determination (and a ton of guts) and even held the 'Cones scoreless after 1 period. Matt, despite any digital shortcomings, is playing better and better in net and that is a good thing for all of us.
The Cads went up one on a goal by Dan Gregson from Mike Jasse early in the second period. Unfortunatly the 'Cones answered right back on a shot from the point. According to Matt the next three shots were all tipped and they all went in. This is where things seem to get out of hand.
Word has it the game was reffed by the fellow with a pot belly, glasses and a penchant to yap. I think we all know this guy, and lately when we've seen him he tends to want to make the game about himself. This guy never shuts up, and has never been one of my favorites, and there is NO question that when he decides to pork you... well its pretty much over.
Thus started the Cadaver parade to the penalty box and with it out went any chance of winning the game. 8 penalties (some just earned by our mouths) called on the Cads, resulting in no less than two five on three scenarios against us. Not good.
Another interesting tid-bit was that the opposing goalie might have been the guy we fired about 2 seasons ago. You might remember him, he liked to let the first 4 or 5 shots in during the first period just to take the mystery out of the result of the game. This Jamoke might have seen 5 shots while Matt saw probably 30. Again... not a formula for success.
On the up side... Matt's wife Kerry was there to take Photo documentation of our poor play and sportsmanship. Enjoy.
