Winter Wrap up.

A good season for the 06-07 Cadavers despite ending up under .500 .
10-14-3 including playoffs with only 1 forfit win. Really we had a rough start, a great streach in the middle, then an even rougher finnish.
We started out shaky losing 3 out of 4 games in both October and November. We seemed to catch our stride though and for December and January we were a nifty 7-2-2, with both ties and one loss coming in the last 4 games of that period. We had 7 total games in January. The end got grizzly going 1-3-1 in February and March then 0-3 in our playoff games.

Some things to think about while looking back, and giving out stars for the season....

We lost Larry Bell on January 22nd to a bad knee injury and he was done for the season. Larry was our points (and penalty) leader and obviously we missed him a lot. The grim facts are that from that night forward we were 2-7-2 and one of the wins a forfit. Larry sat out the last 10 games and still won the scoring (and penalty) title(s). This earns him 1st star of the season. Larry's numbers were 23 pts, 14 goals, 9 assts for a solid 1.353 PPG average. All this in just 17 games played. He also wins the Mike Campbell award for most PIMs with 16 penalties for 26:30mins, and 2 ejections. Way to let 'em know you're there.

Lizzy had a great season for us finishing up with a 3.56 GAA in 16 games. At one point she had a 6 game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) culminating with a beauty of a shutout on Feb 8th against the Dead Rabbits that also marked our last win of the season. Great job Liz you get the 2nd star for the season. The great thing about this season for you was the way you improved from the beginning to end and always turned in gutsy performances week in and week out. Thanks again.

My choice for 3rd star is Dan (with hands) Hebert, in his first full season with our motley crew. Technically he finished third in team scoring (mere % points behind Chris Fosdick) with a line of 15pts, 8 goals, 7 assts and a 0.682 PPG., but he played more games (22 as opposed to 18) and had an overall larger impact on our success as a team (sorry 'bro, you had a good season too...see below). It was always nice to Dan back there on the point settling things down, clearing things out, and often times just making stuff happen on both ends of the ice. Great season Dan thanks for the effort every night.

Honorable mentions go out to:

Mike Gash - Great job all season. Nice 2.10 GAA with a 4-4-2 record. Thanks.
Chris Fosdick - Second in team scoring, 15 pts, 5 goals, 10 assts, 0.833 PPG. Could have had about 8 more goals...but thats why we play the games. Good job.
Matt Kilroy - Our franchise GM, leader in all things organizational, only plays in 8 games and scores 8 points for a very productive 1.00 PPG average. Thanks for everything Matt.

Great job everyone. I'm trying to figure out how to post the complete season stats for you to peruse on your own. No awarding of the Racoon of Shame for the season, we all live with him just a little for the way we played down the stretch. This was a fun season and I'm sure everyone is looking forward to the Summer Schlidavers coming up soon.
Thanks for reading.
