Exciting Pair (of Games) Coming Up

Ok Team... while we sort some things out over last nights game between the Zombies and the Rats we still have a few things to look forward to this week.

Namely two more playoff games.

First up is Team Beercan (0-1) squares off against our old and familiar rival the Blues (1-1) in a classic elimination game.

Schlitz (p2) vs Blues

Wednesday April 15th

Dedham 9:00pm

Kilroy tells me we have 13 confirmed for this one... so lets make sure we give 'em hell. Recent history here... actually kind of interesting reading. Lets be sure to beat these guys and knock them out.

The winner of this game plays the NEXT NIGHT... Thursday 4/16 @10:10pm at the Bavis Rink.... so lets start planning ahead...

Next up is a Thursday night matchup for the Zombies, now 1-1 thanks to the Rats. They will play the winner of Sitniks and Spartan's game on Wednesday night. Lets be honest... we probably wouldn't mind seeing either of those clubs after facing the Rats....

Cadavers (p3) vs Sitniks/Spartans

Thursday April 16th

Canton 7:00pm

Get your responses for availablilty into Managment for this game ASAP!!! The winner of this game will play again on Monday 4/27.

Practice... or Playoffs?

We were talking about practice... in fact Marc Valenti went so far as to book some time at the Quincy Youth Arena to do just that. In fact judging by the prodigious email string it looked like there were plenty of 'daveurs looking to get in on some late night practice action to tune up for the upcoming playoffs.
Well... the upcoming playoffs have arrived... the same week as Practice... in fact the same night...

...so with a quick change we will switch from Practice to... PLAYOFFS!?!?!

This rant seemed to sum up how the winter season has gone for our beleaguered Suds and Zombies.

Both Teams are in action next week as the Winter Playoffs get underway. Here are your Rosters as of 11am Thursday Morning 4/2/09.

Playoff Schedule Update

Ok Team... Looks like the Schedule Machine over at NESHL has cranked up the power and completed the task. It also looks like the the League Office has granted our request to save our "Hockey at the Beach" event on 8/24 and has adjusted us accordingly. Yay League.
Here is what we have up to this very minute.

Schedule Update ... its exciting...

Here are the games for the rest of June. Two more team on team events planned and some visits by some old friends that we haven't seen in a while. Check your schedules...especially for Tuesdays... and get back to Management if you know you have any conflicts.

I can't really offer an explanation for the included photo... I just couldn't come up with a good excuse to use it. The June schedule seemed to fit this morning. Hm... maybe schedule posts could be designated hockey babe posts... yeah... feel free to comment and enjoy.

Rosters! 3 Game Week starts Sunday!

After a week off and a long weekend full of Burgers, Dogs, Brews and anything else you depraved maniacs might have ingested over the holiday... we have a busy week.

The Cadavers hit the pond on Sunday night in Canton with a 10:20pm match up with our old friends(likely division rival) the Deep Freeze. Sunday night games are tough attendance wise, so don't go getting blitzed at your neighbors cookout and blowing off the game... be sure you show.

Then we will have the First 'Daveur of the season with a big Tuesday night tilt in Canton at 7pm. That's right... 7pm... so you North Shore guys need to plan ahead and consider traffic. Be sure to leave enough time to get to the game... there was construction in that area as well last time we played there. The 'Daveur rosters will be settled on over the weekend by Guest GM Mike Campbell. Mike can't attend the game but will be cooking up the recipe for an interesting matchup for the rest of us. Lets see what he comes up with.

The week closes out with Thursday night and a Schlitz vs. Last Call game, at 7pm, in Dedham. Could be another, "take the temperature" game, but we wont know 'til we see who we're playing. To the blogger's recollection we've never played these guys before, and there is no record from past seasons of which division they played in. Again plan your travel to get there on time.
Check out the rosters below and let Management know ASAP if you can't make it. Thanks.

Playoff Schedule and Scenarios

Next Game: Schlitz (3);(1-0) vs Tigers (1)(1-0)

Monday April 21st

Canton 9:10pm

The Golden Schlitz will try to do something we haven't done in a season and a half... beat the Tigers. Get your availability in to Kilroy right now as there will certainly be some small amount of shuffling going on.

Scenario 1: A loss here by the Beercans means an elimination game Schlidaveur on Thursday night, with the winner getting another crack at the Tigers.
Scenario 2: A victory here sends the Tigers to meet the Zombies on Thursday night with the possiblity (if the Cadavers can win) of a Championship Game Schlidaveur (CGS) (cue the chorus... and the lights... ok that's good) the next Monday night 4/28.
One of the teams will play that night, hopefully both.

Next Game: Cadavers (2) (1-1) vs. (1-1) Loser of Monday's Game.
Thursday April 24th
Brockton 10:10 pm

The Cadavers have advanced in the losers bracket courtesy of last night's win over the Freeze and will face whomever loses on Monday. If its the Tigers a win forces the CGS the next Monday. If its the Schlitz than its an elimination game with the winner getting the Tigers again.

Next Game: Championship Game
Monday April 28th
Canton 9;10 pm

This game could actually be the first of two depending on if whichever team comes in 2-1 wins against the 2-0 team. The date of that possible game has not been decided. Someone (hopefully both teams) is going to play on this night. We can only hope for the coveted and sacred CGS...

One last thing. Say the Schlitz beat the Tigers Monday. Then say the Cads beat the Tigers Thursday, and then in the CGS, the Cads win Monday, making both teams 2-1.

That would force a third and Penultimate CGS!!!! We would meet 3 total times to decide the division. That would be the ultimate, but there are about 1 million coningencies on it working out like that so the Blogger is going to try not to work himself into a lather thinking about it....

Remember. Get in touch with Kilroy about your availabilty for ALL POSSIBLE REMAINING GAMES. Go ahead... do it now. Go on...

The blogger regrets that he will be out of town all of next week but he eagerly awaits email information about how both games go. Photographic evidence earns extra credit...

'Til next time..

Go Zombies.

Go Suds.

We've done this before and its been fun, so if you'd like to give it a try let us know. We give you the list of confirmed skaters, you pick the teams... any way you want.

Otherwise be sure to get your IN and OUTs into Kilroy as soon as possible. Also let him know your availability for the upcoming weeks.

Thanks. See you all Monday!

Schedule, Updates, Miscellaney

Here we have the schedule so far with the games we've played and the games to come through the end of November. Click on the image to see it full size (and legible).

I'll wait to do stats until each team has played at least 6 games. There are no real big stories yet, numbers wise, anyhow.

Late word here at Corporate HQ is that Lizzy is ok, doing fine, but a little banged up. This will keep her out of the Monday Schlidaveur regardless, so management is scrambling to find a replacement. We all know Madd Matt is now unavailable to fill in right at the moment (more on that below...) so we may have to go "outside the organization".

Matt has sent and email regarding our options for the game that night in relation to our friends the Red Sox and thier impending Championship. Please respond as soon as you can.

Speaking of Madd Matt... he's doing fine also and seems to be healing up well. He is still mourning the potential loss of his bright future as an XBox superstar gamer and Rod Hockey World Champion, but is keeping his spirits high. To quote Matt....

"If the drummer from Def Leppard can do it... I can too." I have a feeling we'll be seeing him on the ice in no time. Good luck Matt....er Stumpy... er Frodo... Twiddles... Shorty... hmmm nothing seems to fit quite yet.

Remember team... Matt's gift to us through his misfortune is a very important lesson. Take your time with power tools or anything dangerous you might do. It pays to be extra careful.

Playoff Schedule This week and next!

Schlitz vs Tigers
Tuesday 8/28
10:20 Canton

Schlitz
Larry Bell
Pete Capraro
Chris Fosdick
Ken Goldenberg
Dan Gregson
Greg James
Bill Pearlman
Scott Pounds
Kevin Manning
Matvey Nikhamik
Dave Spenciner
Jim Sullivan
Stefan Wennik
Mike in net

The Schlitz played the Tigers twice this season the first was a 3-1 loss and the second was a 2-0 win. Both times it sounded like the suds matched up well, but only good results on the second game. Some may remember the first meeting when Capraro led the meltdown...along with others. This should be a winnable game.

Cadavers vs. Rangers

Thursday 8/30

7:10 Canton

Cadavers

Mike Campbell
Deb Dalessio

Matt Elliot

Jeff Fosdick

Josh Greenstein

Mike Hammitt

Dan Herbert

Mike Jasse

George Moorachain

Nelson Sharfman

Lizzy in net

We've only played these guys once. The Schlitz (most of guys on Cads roster now) lost to them 9-6 back a week ago in Quincy. Looked like a winable game, but it will take a Zombie Pride effort to put them away in the playoffs. The Cads are 0-1 in the playoffs after losing in OT last week. Need this one to make the next game all the more meaningful!

Speaking of the next game....

Schlitz vs Cadavers

Tuesday 9/4

9:10 Canton

Everyone....

Including friends, familiy and pets.

Miran... you're on.

Alert the media.

Playoff Schlidaveur....nice.

As always alert Management to any conflicts immediately. Someone get the Scoresheet on Tuesday.
