Just a reminder about the tremendous Hockey at the Beach event that Mr. Campbell has been planning is THIS SUNDAY August 24th at Duxbury Beach.
Be there or be square and bring along all of your "Better Halves" because we sure don't want to just see your ugly mugs. Look forward to some Grillin' Chillin' and Grinnin' on Sunday evening.
Mike has covered everything in the emails but I'll just throw this stuff in...
You should bring:
- Food for yourself (and wife/gf, etc.) and anything you’d like to share. Kilroy’s bringing a six-foot sandwich as well (and he just may share some of it with you, if you don’t have anything else. J ), and Jasse and I are each bringing grills (and grilling instruments), which all are welcome to use also.
- Beer/Wine/Tequila/Jello Shots/etc. – Again, as I mentioned before, we’re going to need to shuttle all of us and all of our stuff out to the beach and back, so bring enough of what you like to drink, but there’s no need for 15 guys to show up with two 30-packs of Budlight EACH! Also keep in mind that technically it isn’t legal to drink out there, so a keg is a bad idea. (I have enough Solo cups for everyone.)
- Stand-up Canopy/Tent (If you have one). There’s a chance of Thunderstorms/Showers late Sunday, so if you have one of these, bring it along. We may need it for a bit.
- Beach Games – For example, I am bringing my bocce balls and horseshoes. If you have a Volleyball net, bring it along. (I had one, but Blake’s kid trashed it at my last party. Maybe he’ll bring me a new one? J )
- Chairs, if you like to sit down.
- Bathing suits. Sounds like it’s going to be humid and in the mid-80s on Sunday, so the water should be fun. Also, you’ll need to get in if you need to take a leak before the sun sets.
Capraro – You’re on the hook for wood (logs, kindling, newspaper, matches, etc.). I’m bringing my fire pit.
