Cadavers(5) vs Predators
Monday 10/25
BU 9:10pm
6-2 win
The Dead in Red faced the Predators, wearing green but not looking themselves, last night at BU looking for another Monday night win. Team Zombie posted a very nice roster of even 13 with Randy in net, but the Preds had 10 that clearly did not contain the usual level of humbling quality they’ve used in the past to beat us like unwanted step children. It was going to be a good night for the Red.
Here’s your roster
Randy Dudek in Net
D1: DWH, iJosh
D2: Fosdick, Valenti
O1: Josh Bitker, Sully and Matvey
O2: Baker, Gregson, Ted Galante
O3: Larry, Jasse, and Parker
(lines might be fuzzy here….please comment and set me
straight)
It was going well from the start, but Green put on an early push that tested Randy a couple of times. We could see though that they clearly didn’t have the game changer players (or enough of them) to be as tough as they usually are. Red got chances and continued to carry the play, between some scrambles and worked hard.
Sully would lead things off, with a nice finish off on the
feed from Josh Bittker. This would become a theme, these two, later in the
game. This came a minute in.
With about seven minutes left in the first Larry would put a
cap on a nice shift in the green end when he would take a play from Dr. Jasse
and bang it home.
Greggy would take a slashing penalty after a solid exchange
of blows with the one, no face shield dude that they had. They both went to the
box but Greggy ended up with the extra minute and a half. Still, taking the
initial from the no face shield got him off the ice so Greggy helped us out
there.
No real trouble on the PK as the D held pretty well, the
forwards forechecked hard and Reliable Randy played steady baking.
Before the period was over Josh (Bittker... we need a nickname for this guy) Sully line was starting to show some pay off from their excellent hard work.
Jeff would hold the puck at the point and fire a low shot that was slightly wide. (The other) Josh (hmm... ) would wrist it home after Sully tipped it toward the net. Nice pinball play but OJosh (hmmm…closer) provided the finish.

The first would end 3-0 good guys. Still a little odd for a
Preds game.
OJB (maybe…)_ would start the second as strong as he
finished the first and about the 10 minute mark he would take a pass from Sully
and zip up the left side of the zone. Then he unleashed a wicked wrist shot
that went top shelf, knocking off the water (and the peanut butter) and the Red
were up 4 zip. It only took about 45 seconds for JoshB (better?) to complete the hat trick. I think this
one came across the front from Sully and JoshB slammed it home. So he gets the
natural trick all assisted by Sully who I guess gets the A-trick.
To cap the run off DWH would make a few of his patented slow
but swift moves and rush the puck through the neutral zone and into the zone
where gliding by the net he roofed a very nice wrister of his own and finished
the unassisted score.
It was a little surreal for the blogger sitting there with
exactly half the time gone in the game (8:30 second) up 6-0 on the Predators,
who were clearly done, despite the two scores they’d come up with later on.
The Preds would score with 3 minutes left in the second on a
play that went around our end after a slight let down, but being up 6 will do
that to you sometimes.
Green would get one more late in the 3rd but that was it. Team Zombie kept the blanket on the Preds, who didn’t show too much the rest of the way. We had to keep the no shield dude under surveillance but he only had a few big bursts in him.

Nice way to start the week. Solid all around. Good work.
3rd Star: Doc Jasse, Larry Bell, and Dan w/Hands. All with one point. DWH and Larry with goals.
2nd Star: Sully. Who is racking up points like
they are going out of style. An Atrick with Joshb. And a goal of his own. Great
work all around.
1st Star: JoshB. Josh Bittker who has literally
taken over the scoring race in the early going, nearly locking up Rookie of the
year with a mere X games played. His play has been a big boost and he’s clearly
looking like a quality acquisition…. Of course he’ll be looking for Free Agent type
money next season but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Great work
man. Nice to have you around.
Fourth period honors to Dr. Jasse and Marc Valenti who both
brought tastey beverages. The crew
hung for quite a while… trying to riddle out the messages in the BU dorm room
windows… and discussing all manner of topics, drunken or otherwise. None of
which can quite be recalled… at least by me…
I do believe Dr. Jasse was not far off the mark when he
said:
“Apparently our 4th period strategy is to drink
the number of beers matching our jersey numbers.” Always astute info from the doc… not sure we got there but
we tried. (For the record 12 and 10).

Nickname suggestion TOJ (The Other Josh)
I second the above nickname!
Also, On TOJ's first goal, I won the faceoff back to Jeff and jeffs shot was directed straight in by TOJ. I didn't touch it after winning the draw.
